What to Expect
The goal of our home euthanasia service is to provide a peaceful and stress free experience for your pet and family.
After arriving at your home, we will take some time to allow your pet to adjust to having a new visitor. Once your pet and family members are comfortable, we will go through any questions that you may have before choosing a special spot around the home for your pet to make their transition (we recommend a spot where they normally feel most comfortable).
Once a special spot has been chosen and your pet is relaxed we will administer a medication that will make them nice and sleepy. Once they’re in a peaceful sleep we’ll clip a small patch of fur on one of their legs and place an IV catheter for smooth administration of their second medication. The second medication is an anaesthetic drug that we use at a high dose - as we administer this medication your pet’s heart will slow down and gently stop - they will have drifted off peacefully.
Once your pet is at rest, we will allow you to spend as much time with them as you need to say your final goodbyes. If requested, we will help with transport of your pet through to the crematorium and organise for a quick return of their ashes.
